The Obtainium Cup Contraptor’s Rally is FREE family event includes food trucks, beer & wine, music, entertainment and unique arts & crafts vendors. Attendees are encouraged to dress up. Expect a wonderful and wacky day of creativity, featuring handmade contraptions tasked with passing unique challenges; Zombies, Flying Monkeys, Mad Hatter Tea Party and new for this year; Arabian Nights and Beaver Fever.

To officially enter a vehicle or bicycle in the rally and receive a medal:

Check: Mail to Obtainium Works, 510 Pennsylvania Street, Vallejo, CA 94590Print and fill out the Waiver, which must be signed by all team members and submitted at the Check-in booth at the event. If team member is under 18, they must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
Last-minute Rally Team Registrations will be accepted at the Check-in Booth, with an increased fee.
Rally Team Check-In
Rally Teams must check in between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm at the Check-in & Info Booth.
Your team’s registration will be confirmed, waivers for each participant must be submitted.
Trailer parking is at Nimitz Avenue and Pintado Street. You can off-load your vehicle and drive it to Mare Island Art Studio.
All participants receive food and drink tickets, water is provided.
The Rally & Challenges:
At 2:00 pm, Teams line up in front of the Neverwas Haul. Your team’s strategy, style and creativity will be scored by our esteemed panel of Judges.
Zombie Challenge: Survival tips; convince them you are a Zombie, bribe them with jello brains and other cerebral treats. Disclaimer: Beating Zombies with croquet bats or other weaponry is forbidden as this is a protected Zombie Preserve.
Mad Hatter Tea Party Challenge: The Queen of Hearts leads the madcap party in a variety of riddles and games
Robot Rumble Challenge: Participants will be required to demonstrate their robot fighting skills with our trash can robots.
Flying Monkeys Challenge: Man the Monkey Guns! Stuffed animals will be shot from canons and you will do your best to catch what you can without too much mayhem!
Arabian Nights Challenge: Scheherazade and her entourage invite people to enter the Cave of Wonders, interact with the Magic Lamp and Genie, and get their fortune told! And learn some basic belly dancing before you venture on.
Beaver Fever Challenge: Warning! Hard working beavers will be constructing dams throughout the event, trying to prevent you from flowing!
Rally Finish & After Party
The rally ends when the last vehicle finishes the challenges and is parked along the waterfront. The Awards Ceremony happens around 5:00 pm.
